A Seafarer Lost In the Deep

Looking over the horizon, lost among the vastness of this earth.
In the middle, floating, the shoreline off in the far distant
Wondering if what lies past where the water meets the sky
There is truly what has been promised

The sun reflects off the blue sea
As the albatross tempts starboard
Loneliness, emptiness abounds when you discover
You are but a drop in the infinite

Strands of life lay hidden beneath
Never to be fully known
Stories of existence going untold
Creation a constant renewal as the wave breaks

The stars and moon shine
Lost in the skyline
Simply a drop in the bucket
A seafarer lost in the deep
